Why Letting Go is My Power Move for the New Year
What's your new year's resolution? What will you LET GO of to bring in the new?
My New Year’s Resolution is capsulated in two words: “Letting Go”.
Letting Go of stuff from the past. Letting go of things that don’t serve us… Letting go of emotions that don’t serve us. Letting go of prior beliefs. Letting go of what was and coming into what is…. and what you want…. rather than what you think you had. Letting go of people that don't do you justice. Letting go of stuff. Letting go of negative mindset.
AND embracing something new and exciting. What are you going to let go of this year?
Watch below and read on…
Fellow dreamers, creators, and trailblazers of the self-made revolution: listen closely. The key to inviting new and exciting success into your life this year might just be in the act of releasing the old—the past failures, the worn-out ideas, the relationships that no longer serve you, and the self-imposed limitations. 2024 stands wide-eyed before us, a blank canvas begging for the splash of our vibrant intentions. Yet, as we grip our entrepreneurial toolkit, a heavy backpack hangs upon our shoulders. It's the pack of "should haves," "what ifs," and the ghosts of dreams passed over. To truly build a masterpiece this year, we must first unburden ourselves: let go.
Letting go isn't weakness, it's a warrior's dance. It's shedding the skin of past limitations, releasing self-doubt like confetti on a victory parade. It's about recognizing that the things we cling to, often out of fear or comfort, can become the very bars of our own cages.
Full disclosure… I’m letting go of so much … here’s my start: I’m letting go of
fear of failure. I don’t want to care so much if i don’t succeed. I just want to do. That means making new choices about the work I do, the activities I explore, and the people I meet. I want to be open to new opportunities and challenges without limits.
my mother and what I wanted her to be: she passed away too soon back in April. I tenderly let her go and what I needed her for, and what she needed me for. I will always love her
expectations: I don’t need the same needs in life, career, body image, friendships. I want to go with the flow and say glorious YES to all the amazing opportunities without limitations, restrictions or expectations.
what was: nothing is the same. Things change. I want to embrace change and become the person I want to become NEXT, not who I was in the past. That means being open to something new, and not compare to the past.
YOUR TURN!
Imagine:
The entrepreneur shedding the fear of failure, embracing experimentation as the mother of invention.
The artist releasing the stranglehold of perfectionism, allowing their messy, magnificent creativity to flow.
The life explorer unbuckling the weight of expectations, venturing off the beaten path to chase uncharted horizons.
Letting go isn't just about discarding the negative. It's about making room for the extraordinary:
The untapped potential bursting forth when we free ourselves from limiting beliefs.
The serendipitous opportunities that materialize when we stop clinging to rigid plans.
The boundless joy that blooms when we embrace the present moment, untethered to regrets or anxieties.
Imagine your mind as a garden. To nurture new seeds of success, you must clear the ground, remove the weeds, and create space for fresh growth. Here's why embracing the art of letting go can be your most transformative resolution:
Forgive yourself. Release the grip of past mistakes. They are stepping stones, not shackles: Carrying the weight of past setbacks or outdated mindsets only holds you back. Free yourself from this burden. Forgive yourself for past mistakes and learn from them. Letting go doesn't mean forgetting but rather choosing not to let these experiences define your future.
Acknowledge and thank the limitations that served you, then set them gently adrift. Before letting go, it's essential to acknowledge the role that limitations played in your journey. This involves recognizing the challenges, constraints, or restrictions you faced and understanding how they may have influenced your growth and development -, aka lessons learned. Thank them for the strength they instilled and the growth they catalyzed. In the spirit of letting go, set these limitations gently adrift, allowing them to gracefully fade away. Embracing the past with appreciation and releasing it with kindness paves the way for new possibilities and uncharted successes in the coming year.
Embrace discomfort. Step outside your comfort zone, where the real magic happens. Create Space for Innovation: Clinging to what's familiar can hinder innovation. Letting go of outdated ideas, routines, or strategies opens the door to new possibilities. It allows fresh ideas to bloom and innovative solutions to take root.
Renew Your Energy: Just as a cluttered room drains your focus, clinging to old habits and energy-draining relationships can sap your vitality. Release what no longer aligns with your journey. Embrace new connections and energies that uplift and inspire you.
Embrace Fearless Growth: Stepping out of your comfort zone often requires shedding old layers. Embrace the discomfort that comes with change. Letting go of fear or self-doubt is the gateway to personal and professional growth. Write down your fears, insecurities, and doubts. Then, burn them with fierce intent. Literally. Light a match to that piece of paper. Goodbye.
Invite Abundance: By letting go of scarcity mindsets or limiting beliefs, you create room for abundance. Believe in your capacity to attract success, opportunities, and prosperity.
Celebrate small victories. Each step forward is a testament to your courage. Let go of the fear of failure, the need for perfection, the hesitancy to take risks. Allow yourself to be vulnerable, to learn, and to evolve. Embrace the unknown, for it is where the magic happens. Yeah baby!
This new year, make the conscious decision to declutter your life, mind, and soul. Reflect on what no longer serves your journey towards greatness and bid it farewell. Embrace the discomfort of change, for within that discomfort lies the transformative power to shape your destiny.
Remember, letting go isn't passive surrender. This year, let's not just build empires; let's demolish the walls that hold us back and claim the unapologetic life we were born to lead.
